Asbestos

Asbestos is another topic in science that has been shit up by morons more interested in politics and economics.  Is asbestos significantly dangerous to health?  Does the distinction between chysotile and other forms matter when the chrysotile asbestos is so commonly contaminated with the far more carcinogenic forms?  Who is responsible for what your geology textbook has said about asbestos?
