i knew string theory was loads of crap.
I would like to know if someone (redcream) could give a simple explanation of an E8 Lie group.

Ehh...Loop Quantum Gravity sets up a much better framework than does String Theory, insofar as their work on lattice structures and spin-networks at the sub-subatomic scale.
