How many H-bombs, equally spaced within the moon and detonate simultaneously, are needed to completely destroy it?

I'm on to your plan

all the pieces will fall on earth destroying it in the process

1)calculate the amount of energy it would take to accelerate all of the mass of the moon to it's escape velocity. remember to take into account things like the escape velocity varying at different layers of the moon
2)look up the amount of energy in an atom bomb
3)simple multiplication
I'm not actually going to do this because it requires more effort than I'm willing to put in right now. if someone else wants to do it, post the results. I suspect the result will be pretty ridiculous, but not inconceivable.

It was a Hungarian who created the hydryogen bomb. Teller Ede.

Most college graduates can't even do the professions that they studied in a university for 4 years any better than a 5th grader, if not worse. Yet they're the experts because they're "qualified".

I don't think you could rely on having all the energy being used effectively; as much force would be applied towards the center of the moon as would be applied away from it, except at the surface and at the centre itself. >>1
Depends on your definition of destroyed in this case - would you like the moon vaporised? Broken up? Completely shattered? Sunny side up?
If you get lucky/do your homework, you might be able to tear it up with a few well placed bombs by making up of fault lines etc.
You gotta compute the gravitational binding energy (look that shit up on Wikipedia) but that's by far the easiest part. Then you gotta figure out what height or depth is optimal to ablating that fucking moonrock as a function of yield. Why don't you ask this to a motherfucker from Los Alamost instead of us 4chan jerkweeds?

You should be able to reuse some of the reasoning and calculations from the How to Destroy the Earth page at http://qntm.org/destroy
Remember, you will also need Bruce Willis there to set them off.
