If x is the total amount.  Then u (The amount used) is equal to 15 + .2(x-15).  So the amount left (L) is x - u.  Also, L = u + 3.

u = 15 + .2(x-15)
L = x - u
L = u + 3

x - (15 + .2(x-15)) = 15 + .2(x-15) + 3
x - 15 - .2(x-15) = 15 + .2(x-15) + 3
x = 30 + .4(x-15) + 3
x = 33 + .4(x-15)
x = 33 + .4x - 6
x = 27 + .4x
.6x = 27
x = 45 kg

Don't change these.
