Yo-yo coffee can

I have a science project. I need to take a coffee can, and make it so that if the can is pushed forward it will roll forward and then roll backward to the starting point. what  do you suggest?

push the coffee can up a ramp and let it roll back down to a barrier where you started it.

This is an age-old project where you have a rubber band thingy in the can.  I'm sure the plans are somewhere.

You can also tape something heavy to one side of the can.  If you roll it just a little, it will roll back to where it started.

You might need rubber band/other strategies for larger perturbations.
