Matthew 5:3
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:23-24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Mark 10:23-25
And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Luke 18:24-25
And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
James 2:5
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
James 5:1-6
Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
Psalm 37:16
A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

If America is so God/Jesus loving, then where is my communism?
The Bible is actually quite interesting to analyze and debate. However, it should go in /book/ not /sci/

The god you are talking about is the Jew god, which is the same one that the Christians and Muslims talk about. So naturally he's all about money and making Jews successful with it.
With no proof offered to back up this outrageous assertion of a giant alien space monster existing which also has any concern whatsoever with certain Humans with larger bank accounts than other Humans, this thread ended at >>1.

Bible claims are based upon the existence of a giant alien space monster. Without that basis, people are just shotting web into each other's mouths, intellectually speaking. You may as well debate the holy text of "Pet Semetery", written by the inspired hand of His Holiness, High Priest Stephen King.
If people would instead move the Bible debates to /book/, where it belongs, I'd have no problem with it. However, they continue to insist that the Bible has some real-world authority. It does not. It's based upon a the existence of a giant alien space monster that clearly DOESN'T exist (as endlessly advertised).
>>17 FAIL. There is no reason to assume that a giant alien space monster exists just because the universe exists. Now, it's true that outside the universe (if there is an outside), we don't know its content or history. However, anything sitting outside the universe is the very definition of something that doesn't affect the universe. Doens't exist is about the same as can't affect the universe.
This god-thing as popularly described is surely a Human invention, as you noted.

Fail because the Bible is fact and Pet Semetary is fiction.

Ppl are confused as to what God means.
The Bible says Him because the humans tend to need something to focus on spiritually, but doing this creates a finite perception of the infinite.
Everything in the Bible isnt meant to be understood as scientific it is meant as symbolic so it may tap into the subconscious and express a myriad of truths at different levels of comprehension
If you compare God to a mythological creature you are deluded as God isnt a creature it is the formless, essence and totality of all things and you can connect to this all-pervading peace and power when you harmonise by clearing your mind. This is the basis of prayer and the science behind why it works. God is the creative force behind all, so when you connect with that infinite emptiness, you become a channel of that creative force and can manifest through will.
However if you become too attached to what you manifest you can lose touch with your spiritual nature and thus the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore the Bible says the rich man will not enter Heaven because he is too rooted in physical reality and self preservation. By only seeing the self we lose touch with the infinite.

Wrong, wrong wrong, and wrong. The Bible IS meant to be taken literally, why do you thinkg God's Word is omnipotent. The Bible is factual, not metaphoric. God is exactly as discribed in the Bible, and he creates us in His image, as explaine in the Bible. Also that last sentence makes absolutely no sense, I would suggest elaborating. The current theory of the creation of the universe (the "Big Bang") says the universe is finite, bye the way, so your pantheism is contradictory to "science". The Bible, on the other hand, is a completely factual and accurate.

"He" also created everything else in "His" image, as "He" has limitless form

Even symbolism tends to devolve to the real. Devolving religion to the real ends up with ZERO EVIDENCE, hence has no connection to the real that it purported to represent in the first place.
What we actually have here is a bunch of Judeo-Christian fags running around basing their decisions on what some dead Jews wrote in a book. Since what they wrote about just screams for the need for evidence, the Bible and Torah essentially contradict themselves and thus fall into the realm of Bad Fiction. All such books should be shelved right next to other works of fiction that are treated as factual, like Roots.
actually most "Christians" and "Jews" don't really follow the Bible and Torah, they only pretend to.

1.Why do religious people like to force their kids to believe in that religion? For example, my christian parents like to force me to be christian. What can I do in this situation. They kind of suspect that I am not christian, but don't know for sure and hence keep bothering me about reading the bible every day and it being the "book of wisdom". It really gets on my nerves.
2. I kind of emphathise with religious people who believe in personal Gods. They spend all their lives believing in a personal God and like for example my parents.

For example, I cannot tell my parents the truth that I do not subscribe to christianity because I'm not sure what they will do. They might "kill" me, or at least spend a lot of time trying to convince me to convert, because they're stupid.
