Any tutors on at this late hour?

Alright, I hope you guys don't mind me asking this but I literally have nowhere else to look.

I've always been horrible with integrals.

The problem is ∫ 1/(t^2)sqrt(25+t^2) dt

I substituted 5tanӨ for x so now I have

∫ 1/(tan^2(Ө))sqrt(25+25tan^2(Ө)) * 5/cosӨ dӨ

I manage to turn this into

∫ secӨ/25+tan(Ө) dӨ

But I am now absolutely stumped at how I should proceed. I have the integrals of both of the expressions, but it looks like this isn't an f'(x)/f(x) situation, so that destroyed whatever help my book or notes could give me on this.

You have the integrals of both expression, what exactly can't you do?

∫tan(Ө) dӨ = -ln|cos(Ө)| = ln|sec(Ө)|
∫ secӨ/25 dӨ = 1/25 ∫ secӨ dӨ = 1/25 ln|sec(Ө) + tan(Ө)|

I don't see your problem

Do you mean
∫ 1/((t^2)sqrt(25+t^2)) dt
or
∫ (1/(t^2))(sqrt(25+t^2)) dt

?

There is nothing more to discuss here, so shut up. Thread is closed.

But I still don't know whether he meant
∫ 1/((t^2)sqrt(25+t^2)) dt
or
∫ (1/(t^2))(sqrt(25+t^2)) dt
.
