Periodic tables

Why the fuck is it so hard to find a periodic table with common oxidation states included?

Name: RedCream 2007-07-31 23:01 ID:CEvOqoJr

You should be able to find one in a college bookstore.

Study a real science, chemfag.

When that "chemfag" gets an organic or industrial chemical engineering job paying $60K year, I speculate that he'll take a massive shit from a great height upon your fuckhead, #3.

No, he'll have plenty of chemical waste from his lab that he could dump on 3 instead.

hodge podge of potent organic solvents, or shit?  your choice

Tough choice, 4t.  Hmm.  Aw, heck with it:  GIMME THE SHIT.

Because it's not that fucking difficult to just remember. Repeat after me: 1,2,3,4,53,63,742,23,23,2,1,2,31,42-4,53-3,64-2,731-1.
If you've paid any attention to the irregularities in the filling order of orbitals (eg Cu = [Ar] 4s2 3d17 4p2, not d18 p1) - hell, they may even BE in your poster - the exceptions to this are easy enuff to work out.

60k a year isn't great.

Name: RedCream 2007-08-02 15:05 ID:fWWMCnC1

#8, $60K is a GREAT starting salary for a chemist, provided he doesn't spend it like a nigger commonly spends his money.  Note well that $60K is about:

· 172% higher than the median USA individual income of $22K
· 62% higher than the average US salary of around $37K
· 43% higher than the median USA household income of $42K

Provided you don't buy into the Great American Housing Bubble like the fucking niggers and whiggers did, a single chemist can save about $20K per year on his salary.  Of course, you won't have a 3500sqft home in tony SanFran, a 5285-inch TV, and Latino serving wenches serving you both grapes and their outthrust nipples.  When you're single and well-paid, you should be ... waaaaait for it ... SAVING MONEY!

"Living it up" is what the niggers do.  "Saving for a better tomorrow" is what the prudent and sensible man does.

What do those numbers mean?  I've never heard of an oxidation state of 742...

whoa... how do you get the bolded text/bullet points?
I thought this thing doesn't support html?
test

err... nvm about the bold at least; I figured that out by guessing lol

They're alts. Frex the "731-1" means that halogens have common oxidation states of +7, +3, +1 and -1. (Actually, +5 might be slightly more common than +3, now that I think of it...)

No, it's not hard to remember, but it's a pain in the ass.
