So, I'm getting ready to start my freshman year in college. I'm skipping Calc I because of AP credit, so I'm going into Calc II, but I haven't learned how to use Maple. Does anyone know of any good tutorials for Maple that focus on the sort of knowledge I need for Calc II?
Yeh, #13, except that the public school systems that govern most of American primary education are not eager to produce the Calculus for students as a standard course. Sure, plenty of schools have a Calc class; too many students are NOT in it. Most the students are railroaded (recall they are minors and therefore require GUIDANCE) into HappyMathâ„¢ courses that mis-serve the very idea of a sound foundation of math.
It sounds like your rightwingnuttery has gotten the better of you, since you're implying that CHILDREN are expected to have the same self responsibility as ADULTS. They do NOT, by definition. Therefore, it's incumbent upon parents, teachers, administrators and the general public (which funds the schools) to insist CHILD students to take the maximum courses they can withstand. It's not the fault of the students; it's OURS (which includes YOU).
