#8, I didn't say Concorde was a failure, and neither did I even imply that it was. That means the vainglory here is within your mind (which is rather standard for the usual Western cocksucker which frequents this 4channel).
What I DID say was that the West had given up on it. Is it flying today and carrying passengers? No. Is there a replacement for it flying today? No. Is there a replacement for it in the works? Well, I haven't heard of one, and I'm fairly well perceptive to such news.
There are other indicators that the West is on the decline. In accordance to the lessons of history, this suggests that there is an "emergent civilization". I proposed that that is China. After all, it's growing economically in leaps and bounds, and economic growth is a fairly strong sign of civilization.
You're right to suspect that perhaps China can't cut it with developing that level of civilization. We're in the midst of a worldwide Peak Oil and that can only affect China too. If oil proves to undermine all economic growth in the world, then there's not a good chance that China will put a JP-guzzling supersonic design to work. But they still might. After all, look at the great example of the Apollo Project ... all that expense and development, in part just to prove the American cock was larger than the Russian cock. Given the size of the average Japrick on Internet pr0n sites, the Chinks might well feel the need to prove themselves.
