Okay, I am the sucks at math. I need help with trigonometry homework please ; - ;

" A 100 foot line is attatched to a kite. When the kite has pulled the line taut, the angle of elevation to the kite is approximately 50 degrees. Approximate the height of the kite"

How do I do this? ; - ;

sin(50) * 100 is the height.

To put it in a crappy ascii diagram that probably won't work:

    /k
   / |
  /  |
 /   |
/50__|

The /'s are the string, and k is the kite.

Ask good ol' chief Sohcahtoa.

Yeah, like the boys say, the 100 foot line is the hypotenuse, and the height of the kite is opposite to the given angle 50 degrees.  So, you want to make an equation based on the sine ratio, opposite over hypotenuse.

Also, the angle of the dangle is directly proportional to the heat of the meat.

sin(theta)=opposite/hypotenuse
sin(50)=x/100
100*sin(50)=x
x~76.6044443119

Don't change these.
