Ack, stupid question

Name: JasonO 2007-02-03 21:06

Ive been working on this and i cant quite figure it out, and it doesnt explain it inside the unit.

"Square JKLM is inscribed in P. If JL = 30, calculate the area outside the square but inside the circle."

the line JL goes right through the corners of the insribed square.

I may have started completely wrong but heres how i started. i first saw that the JL is also the diameter of the circle, radius is 15, area of the circle is easy, but now i gotta deal with the square, split the square into 4 triangles, all 90-45-45 triangls, with 2 sides 15 units long. 15^2+15^2=c^2, i got 450^2= 21.2132034(i do something wrong?) then get the area of the circle, 42.4264068, now the circles area minus the 42...where did i go wrong?
