Is this actively being researched in the universities?  And to what extent.  Stuff like how our brains solve problems and compute things interests me, or the biochemical processes that allow us to store things in memmory, and I was wondering if anonymous knows more about fields related to this.

Any links or insight appreciated.

Its a very popular feild in both biology and philosophy, should be easy enough to find infomation on it. I believe "The Teaching Company" has a few lectures out for this topic. I remember hearing that John Searle made one, If you can find it it should help you get started

University of Chicago does a lot of research in computation neuroscience if I recall correctly. I believe they even have an undergraduate program in it.
