hey guys, need some quick help on some calculus problems ... d/dx is fine but after that starts to confuse me ...
x²yz² - x³y² + 2x²y
d/dy = ??
d² / dzdy = ??

erm if you can do d/dx then you should be able to do d/dy. just replace y with x, do d/dx since you know how to do d/dx and then replace y back with x. but this is not how you meant to do it. basically you take everything else except y to be a constant. so instead of looking it as a function of three variables, you only look at it as a function of y.
for the second one, you just find the derivative with respect to z, then differentiate that with respect to y, or vice versa. doesn't matter since it's a nice function.

i thought there was some retarded thing with y' somewhere ... that's why i wasn't sure. thanks

Are you trying to do partial or total derivatives? And what did you get for d/dx?
