Why does vagina smell the way it does?

i have noticed vagina has two scents.

the first scent is the ocean breeze scent that you smell when you first get it in front of your face. sometimes it smells like sweat and tangerines too

the second is when its been sitting around for a while.. when it begins to smell like squid or rotting seafood.

i have no problem with the first kind, but the second one is truly annoying.
why does vagina start to smell like that, and how can i prevent it or reduce the stench?

It's basic hygene, dude.  People are smelly, stinky, dirty animals.  Messy pig sex can be great, but not so much when you're looking for some... pleasures down under.  Spend a day working out, then don't shower, sleep over night, and see how your balls smell.  Showering would prevent that.  Same goes for the ladies.  I don't get it why a lot of people have some adversion to showering before sex.  Just admit you're not always 100% clean (aka a normal human being) and clean up first.
