There could be. However, it could be that in most cases it will not manifest itself, but if the right combination of "gay genes" ends up in an individual they are expressed. That way, they would be albe to hang around in the gene pool while not making people gay most of the time(heck, they might even carry some other useful functions individually) but every once in a while they do. That's a small price to pay if these genes carry other useful stuff with them... or just hang around the gene pool doing nothing.
