The question:

""""""
LiOH can be produced by the following formula:

Li3N + 3 H2O -> 3 LiOH + NH3

How many mol of LiOH is produced if you mix 7 grams of Li3N to a large amount of water?
"""""""

My solution:

7 grams of Li3N would be 0,44 mol (if I understand this mol thing correctly)

so if
1 mol of Li3N -> 3 mol LiOH
then
0,44 mol of Li3N -> 1,32 mol LiOH

Wrong or right? Win or fail? If wrong/fail then I would appreciate it if someone showed me the right way to solve this. Thanks.

seems fine to me.  I am, however, assuming that everything you posted is correct without checking on it.

umm actually 7 grams of Li3N would be .201 mol
using 6.9gmol for Li and 14gmol for N.

then .201 mol of Li3N -> .603 mol Li0H.
you got the concept of mole ratios right. just the molecular mass is wrong im guessing.

hrm, you're quite right, I did it again and got 0.201 and 0.603... Dunno how the hell I did it back then. Thanks.
