Are people getting dumber?

I just saw a Who Wants to be a Millionaire question worth $8000 which asked:

Which of the following is not an integer?
a. 1
b. 1/2
c. 0
d. -2

AND THE GUY DIDNT KNOW AND USED A LIFELINE!

Then again, he probably knew the answer to a question where you didn't know it.

If you don't use the word 'integer' in your life (and most people don't, they say 'whole number' or something), then your mind optimizes itself and forgets the meaning of that word. Amazing!
