fireworks and explosives

Can fireworks or explosives be made from the minerals in hard water? I remember seeing this show once where scientists were on an island (kind of a reality show) where a guy made some fireworks from calicium carbonate seashells (essentially whats in hard water in aqueous form). Also, if I can store the oxygen that a plant produces (I have the glassware and tubery for it) can it be used as an explosive?

right out of your tap, depends on how good your city's water is. Hard water is basically water with lots of dissolved divalent metal cations like Ca2+ or Mg2+ which are not harmful to your body  perse, but are deposited in your shower door and fixtures.

if you apply an electric current to your hard water, anions and cations will congregate at the cathodes and anodes respectively. You can then scrape them off. I don't think hard water has any appreciable amount of metals to construct a firecracker though. Try applying a charge to salt water, collect the chloride, apply a charge to calcium carbonate solution, gather the calcium and react it with the chlroide in a beaker. CaCl2, an orange explosive.

... and gas oxigen is not eplosive but an (guess what?) oxidative agent (well duh...); if you could get it pure enough it WILL haste any nearby combustion altroug more unstable molegules like NO2 oxide things faster and furter more the combustions, that's why they use them for racing and stuff

beter than killing a plant use electrolisis to get the purest oxigen gas, cheap and fast whit tap water and a car's battery; plus you get hidrogen on the other side, which IS explosive AND higly irritant when inhaled.
