Let's list a few:
UK/Ireland: Maths
USA: Math
Canada: Math
Singapore: Math
Righto, now let's go through non-english speaking countries:
French: Math/Maths. It depends. They say "Maths" in french, but in english they seem to drop the "s" (those I've worked with).
Germany: Every single german I've met spoke good english, and said "Math".
Japan: "Mathu". Close enough, but no S.
Mexico: Math
Ukraine: Math
Russians: Math
Israel: Math
So we're talking 9 for math vs 2 and perhaps half of the third that say maths.
That's for the big guns around. Most developing countries receive crap textbooks from us, and if they learn to say math, they're not putting any S at the end.
So yeah, I'd pretty much say this argument's over...
