English is the new Lingua Franca BECAUSE of america, not despite it. We can write things the way the guys designing our dictionaries say, and there's nothing you can really do about it since:
a) you have no actual metaphysical justification for one version of the language set being "superior to the other" just because of pre-existance. You're not speaking Shakespearean english, are you?
b) You don't have any other means of enforcing it upon us since we'd kick your ass militarily, financially, and academically (at a university level). Ergo don't give me that Rome bullshit, 'cause we ain't in Rome anymore, dickweed.
