HYPERSPACE? Absolutely nifty, although I never expected hyperspace to have much to do with antigravity

this is not the first time I've heard of this.  the main problem is that the theory that this engine is based off of requires a type of unproven multidimensional theory to work.  so far this has been untestable.  the large hadron collider, when it is complete, will test this theory by attempting to make black holes.  simply put, if the holes form, then there are extra dimensions, if not, back to the drawing board.

some tasty sauce for you:

There's just one catch: the idea relies on an obscure and largely unrecognised kind of physics.

i lol'ed

Wait...So there are scientists out there trying to make black holes? Does anyone else see anything extremely wrong about this?

As I said, they're testing multidimensional theory.  the collisions that they are making are less energetic than the most energetic of the particles already colliding with the upper atmosphere already.  if they create black holes, it will be nothing different than the black holes created above our heads every day.  if not, well, there weren't any black hole above our heads then.

the trick with black holes this small is that the decay extremely fast.  unless they're in an accelerator surrounded by detectors, they'd decay too fast for us to know they're there.

in the case all these theorys are wrong, however, the exparament simply won't work.

I didnt really understand the article, are you useing another dimension to travel or are you being propelled by this antigravity machine?

Name: Anonymous 2006-01-14 15:01

I think there was two methods in that article. One using a propolsion to lift you off the ground and escape earth's gravity.

Another that shifts you into another dimension where the laws are different and actually allow you to do things like hyperspace, warp, faster then light travel and so on.

I think it's all bullshit myself.

I didn't read it properly but apparently these other dimensions are not really actual dimensions but are just used to explain how G,c all those constants can be changed somehow.

Lol, Heim theory. Make up some lengthy equations with lots of integers (to make them look cool and clean), tune everything to fit observations, and then say that the theory 'predicts' these things.

The military interest in hyperdrive experiments is simply what happens when people watch Star Trek instead of getting an education.

don't make me sea of dirac your ass.

Better start designs for the colonist ships....

It won't work, unbless you can somehow play around with black holes like snooker balls.

Don't change these.
