So many people believe in god but then they tell their children that Santa isn't real. People that believe in aliens are considered crazy as well, while it's perfectly normal to believe in a superbeing called "god". What's with the hypocrisy.

It's real because God had men write the bible, silly.
In other words, the bible is the proof that God is real, and the Bible is true because God had men write it, and God isn't fallible because the bible says so, and the Bible is infallible because it's the word of God, and God... etc etc etc ad infinitum (and ad nauseum).

Why is it whenever you say the word God people automaticaly bring up the bible, and Jesus? There are more religions out there that belive in an omnipotent being besides Christianity. Not to bash God, because I belive in God myself. Its just mindlessly beliving in God, and swearing your life on the bible is just as bad as mindlessly not beliving in God, anyone with any sense, knows that the bible is full of errors, and should not be used as a scientific guide, no more then evolution is proof that there is no God, another assumption that pisses me off (The dogma that Evolution is in direct confliction with God) I belive in God not out of faith, but out of knowledge, he is constrained to know mortal religion, but is a self aware multi-verse, that gave birth to our universe, quite possibly out of intent, or quite possibly not. Regardless, being omnipotent, he has no choice but to reconize us as existing, wheather he cares about us or not is up to you to decide. But I do belive he created the universe, in an effort to create us beings, that exist, but are seperate from himself, this can be seen with Heizenburgs uncertainty principle, God needed to create a universe with a level of uncertainty that even he himself could not control, in order to no longer be alone. So Einstein was wrong when he said, "God dosn't play dice." Not to bash Einstein, his picture is on my wall ^_^

The capital G assumes the christian God. By what you are saying you believe in a god, not God, and you are a stupid fag. >>19
No it wasn't. Look it up it's on snoopes. >>1
The thread title suggest a christian God, but you post just says god, so i'm going to address it as such. (I know no one cares so i'ma go with the easy arguement.)
Ok, to say anything about a god you must accept a god exists, because to god isn't you must first say god is. So only a fool would argue against god.

Ok, to say anything about a tooth fairy you must accept a tooth fairy exists, because to say the tooth fairy isn't you must first say the tooth fairy is. So only a fool would argue against the tooth fairy.
Logic, lol.

I can go into the supermarket and ask an employee for a jar of Peter Pan's entrails, it doesn't mean Peter Pan exists, but I still used his name.
"because to say the tooth fairy isn't you must first say the tooth fairy is"
Incorrect^
There is nothing to suggest the tooth fairy is. Therefore we should assume the tooth fairy isn't until there is evidence to suggest the tooth fairy is.

evidence to suggest the tooth fairy is.
When I was little, she took some teeth that had fallen out of my mouth, and left me coins in exchange.

1. assuming god exists
2. what
3. ??????
4. PROFIT
Assuming that God is real then we would have to believe that Santa is too real. The reasoning behind that is you have to assume that both are real there is no evidence that either exists. Both are noted all over the world and are only known to us due to word of mouth. Theirfore I believe that both are the same. Santa is God

you win internets and salvation. i hate losers, regardless of which side their on. people must realise that science, experience, faith, and all other means of making sense of our world are mere tools.
i just saw a post in /b/ of someone claiming that the "default" in any logical argument is "no, bullshit!" until proof. to illustrate his/her claim point, they brought in the american judicial system. this person was clearly not aware of the fact that the judicial system is not purely logical, as it needs to arrive at conclusions in a "timely" manner and a relatively humane one. thus, the "proving beyond the shadow of doubt". in real science, in real logic, we know that our tools and methods of observation and deduction are always limited. a true scientist will be able to tell you that it is quite possible that everything we know is wrong. here is where the layman will go "how could it be wrong that hot is hot and cold is cold?"
and here is where the true scientist will think MAD hard and go "i've no idea, let's find out."

>>6 The State's Santa may have been a creation of a foul Corporation. However in Europe, many took the house-gnome idea that have always been present in our culture. Enlarged them to full size people. In Sweden the first veiwing of a Santa was on postcard painted by some artist I can't remember. Originally it was clothed in blue but influences from the new world's furrious advertising made him red over time.
