Executive Dysfunction

Is anyone else afflicted with this shit?  My parents took me to Johns Hopkins a while back, and after giving me tests and hooking me up to machines and shit, this is the main thing they told me I have.  It's a problem with the frontal lobe of the brain.

Basically the biggest problems I have is that it makes "task initiation" and "task shifting" almost impossible for me.  This means that I can barely start doing anything without intense effort.  And, surprise, when you can't START anything, you can't DO anything.  When I *do* get up the motivation to start something, however, the "task shifting" disability kicks in and it's really fucking hard to stop what I'm doing and switch to something else (and then I need to "start" doing something again, whee).

It basically makes it as if I'm just incredibly lazy.  Maybe that's a better description.  It's a typical problem that ADD/ADHD people have.  http://www.tourettesyndrome.net/ef_overview.htm for more information.

Anyone else struggling with this?  Share your experiences.

And likewise, the people who think that no one has these disorders and think ADD is a made-up condition are fucking retarded.

You have no fucking idea what it's like being clinically depressed; wanting nothing more than to start work on a project, but being unable to due to some vague feeling that you're doing something gravely wrong.
