Despite the poor opinion most people hold for the language, I need to learn C# in order to use it with a 3D rendering framework which fits my needs like a glove. I know C rather well. Can you please recommend me a book and or a website which teaches the language? Ideally one which is not aimed at people who can't already program but does introduces each element of the language thoroughly. I had "CLR via C# 3E" recommended to me by some people but others told me I need another book to learn the basics of the language first.

While I recognize that as true, my current alternative is to spend a year or two trying to create a similar toolkit via OpenGL and SDL2. I'd really prefer to get this done with instead of doing things The Right Way. I hope you'll understand.
