In Law of Moses, it was required that land rests on seveth, Sabatical year, so it could recover. Old Slavic custom was to tile land into third, and peasant would sow and reap only on 2/3rds of land at one time.
However, over the time, great granaries of the world are depending on enormous pesticide, artificial manure and insecticides use. But NPK manure provides just nitrogen, phosphor and kalium, trace elements are gone forever, and we do eat twice the food of our forefathers, but create only bulging stomach and bottom, no muscles like they had on no special food, but eggs and bacon with glass of whiskey.
We all remember Mt. St. Helen eruption in 1980 and this is a great improvement to landscape, plus the idea. We should drill for magma, cold it, crunch it into micro or nano particle sizes and add it into manure. This would for sure replenish trace elements back into ground.
