Learning Ruby

I'm always was a sepples-guy but now I need to learn Ruby for my job (university web research). Where do I start? I'd need to learn Ruby On Rails eventually too.

I'm dead serious here. I'm also not one of those guys spamming this board over the last days.

I don't know Ruby myself, but let me see if I can try to help you out.

If I were you, I'd avoid anything "Head First" or "SAMS Teach Yourself" because both of those series seem to produce sub-par books.

Other than that, try looking around on google and book websites to find out which books are more recommended than others

Good luck

Learn Japanese first, the documentation is better.

Don't change these.
