I know what you're talking about. Didn't I just say I was fully aware of the consequences the spam flood could bring? Check one of the threads, I'm pretty sure I said something like "we might get captcha or the mods could even delete this board". I already knew what I was getting into.
The last spam storm was the executed following the plan, even if it didn't last as much as I wanted it to.
I've been visiting this board every single day for at least 4 years (I know this isn't much compared to other people) and I was getting sick of the bad kind of shitposting. Plus, some people claim it's some bored
/prog/rider shitposting ironically. But how do you explain the abusive amount of shitposting right after we got the link from /g/? It's too much of a coincidence for me.
Before you say "but we've had worse times, like the hax my anus age!", no, it's not true, at least in my opinion. We can be totally sure it was some bored
/prog/rider(s?) derailing meaningful threads. Hell, we even had some actual /b/tards visiting us so we could be their personal army, but they were mostly harmless and we could isolate all the cases easily. It's not like that with the /g/ro shitposting. True, there might be some local users shitposting too, but there were a few imageredditors that actually came here and shit up the board. Once they realized we don't like them, they put on their e/g/in le trolle mask and started shitposting even harder.
The spam was meant to be up long enough to distract /g/ros and make them lose interest in the board, but if it hadn't been for that guy who went to /q/ and asked mods for a captcha, things wouldn't have turned out like this.
I've been using my free time for developing a new textboard in Scheme, but apparently the DistBB guy got ahead from me and I lost all motivation after that.
