Gravitational worms traditionally belong to areas near to dying stars, but similar climate may attract them to pass dimensional gateways.
Since they are made by gravitational collapse of such small amount of matter, they do not represent a danger for Earth as in turning of giant black hole, for it takes them ages to grow to that size - but they WILL eat through anything and any armor, gradually degrading quality, even when they will not kill a man passing through him.
