I think they're stupid. I think most memes are stupid. They remind me of "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress," where the guy is trying to teach the computer "Mike" about humor. "Funny once, Mike."
>>5
They will knock the person directly if they don't like what they're saying. Which is to say they don't have an equivalent that I saw. >>6 could be right for all I know.
>>7
You'd have to ask them, but I suspect it's similar to the way a child will imitate another person's voice and mannerisms while making fun of them.

It's almost exclusively hardware and battlestation threads. I actually understand battlestation stuff on some level because at least it's straightforward bragging, but the hardware: not even cool stuff (well, some of it is), but headphones? Mice? What the fuck?

What's with the people posting BBCode there? Is it the /g/ros, or lost /prog/riders?

Post: I can't say I'm too surprised. It fits the maturity level of most people. Although I'm a little creeped out given all the sexual talk that happens here. I don't think under-18s should be exposed to that kind of content.
Found that in their ``programming thread''. I can't say I'm surprised either.

It is literally self-descriptive. It is what it is.

Now I'm just making shit up, but I assume that it's used to build indices of threads on the back end. Why it's publicly visible is also worth asking.

Please stay forever, /g/ro! We love your memes and shitposting! Culturally enrich us!

I'm >>28 and OP, and other than a few instances I haven't been to /g/ during my few years on /prog/.
When I was a kid these three little faggots cornered me in one of their houses and started asking me trivia questions about Star Trek: The Next Generation from the backs of Star Trek trading cards, then sniggering when I didn't know the answer. I still remember it all these years later because I couldn't believe the stupidity of people who thought they had something on me because they knew an answer that was written on a fucking card they were holding. The answer to a question about Star Trek, for God's sake. You are those little faggots, >>29-31, all grown up.
>>33
I've been here for two years and I've never looked into it. Keep in mind that if anyone did ask someone what it meant, they would just be told to go back to /g/, so it's no surprise I have no idea what it does.
To be honest I don't think I'm gaining much by learning about it, any more than I am by learning BBCode.
I went back to /g/ to see what the ruckus was over their tox project and how apparently ever tox user is made aware of every other tox user's id, ip address, and friendship requests. I proposed a solution that would restrict knowledge of this information to their trusted group of friends, but I only got 2.5 responses, ranging between wont work cuz, and egin stallman gnu reference, while the rest of the posters continued to discuss irc drama. I'm never going back. I swear to god. Please forgive me for my sins.
