His metaphysics and conceptions of the material dialectic is divorced from actual reality; therefore, the rest of his theories are on a very loose foundation. You see, at the time, he road on the coat-tails of Darwin and materialistic evolution to give scientific credence to his theories on the economy and class-struggle.
