Animefags on /g/ are really butthurt of their daily programming threads being created without an anime pic. Moreover, these threads are created legally, with normal images. And this makes them more butthurt. So, i need you to keep creating normal daily programming threads, not gay animed ones. Ty /prog/

We should have a /prog/ challenge for that. Thread closed and replaced with the following.
܀܀ /PROG/ CHALLENGE ܀܀
Write a sexpcode parser in the language your choice. If writing in a lisp, you aren't allowed to use read.

I'm in a cult. We have mass orgies with teenage girls every Sunday night at 8PM, EST. Then we reflect on what it means to be human in a world where the line between man and machine is increasingly blurred. Tonight we're watching Serial Experiments Lain. Next week we have to sit through some William Gibson bullshit though, so I'm not looking forward to it.

I've been drinking alone a lot lately.

What have you been drinking, any recommendations?

I've been reading up on Perl. I stopped caring years ago, but it seems a lot better now. It's a lot cleaner, and it looks like you can write a reasonably complex program in it without getting a result that looks like a stream of random characters.
I'm not looking forward to the JVM crap though. I don't like the idea of having a scripting language allow for closed source distribution.

For fuck's sake, unreadable programs are a characteristic of programmers, not the language. Perl doesn't now magically force you to write readably any more than C11 forces you to use K&R indentation style.

That's not entirely true with regex, but at least Perl allows you to embed whitespace and comments.

True, but the documentation and example code of Perl a la 1999 encouraged an unreadable wall of text. And if you wanted help from the mailing lists, you'd better be ready to accept sixty lines of of it.
It was considered kewl and hackerish to write like that. It's like how Sepples programmers absolutely have to use every part of the STL, IntegerSingletonFactoryFactorySingletonFactory, and every obscure crevice of the standard (and much of what isn't standard) to make themselves look my ENTERPRISE.

You are talking about the Rakudo project, eh? Yeah, I always knew the Perl community was crazy. They only prove it every new version release. Well back to GHC.
Looks like it's finished. I'll pastebin it once I test it as Clojurescript rather than just Clojure. The ASTs are kinda bloated and the whole thing is kinda enterprise, but the fact that it handled Shiichan's shit broken quotes without much insanity makes feel proud of myself for once.
The Meth Show is about to start, so I've got to go to the imagereddits to compete in the contest on who can come up with the least intelligent comment that still seems plausible. I'll be back in a year or so. Wish me luck.

Rozen Maiden got better since the first episode. It's pretty enjoyable now. Jun is much less of a faggot than before.

The new RM is pretty boring and hasn't even shown the new 'De#su yet. That's like making a new season of Lain and then forgetting about Lain. It's like Lucky Star without Konata. It's like SICP without Abelson. It's like living without oxygen. It shouldn't be done. It can't be done. Even the junk showed up first.

I took a shit today. It felt kinda weird, and when I looked, it turned out to be Perl. I was writing Perl the entire time that I thought that I was taking a shit. It's kinda eerie how similar the two activities are when you think about it.
