How much performance will i gain by replacing all vector fonts with bitmap fonts?

In any context. Detailed breakdown by context is welcome.

Sure.  I choose the context of `writing their names in posts on /prog/' with QWERTY layout.

The performance is just about equal. `vector' has six letters, 'bitmap' has six letters.  Furthermore, of those six letters, the first and third pairs are typed with the same finger for each.  `vector' loses a bit of efficiency when moving from `c' to `t' with the same finger, but time trials suggest that the coordination required to line up the exact interleaving of hands for typing `bitmap' compensates for this.

You are aware that most of the time vector fonts get rasterised to bitmaps and the results are cached, right? Unless you're developing for an embedded platform with memory and CPU constraints or using more fonts than you have common sense, it doesn't make much of a difference.

Don't change these.
