Nothing wrong wiht ARM like devices than being RISC. However why the beagleboard is not a F.L.O.S.S.: The ARM Cortex-A8 is a processor core designed by ARM Holdings implementing the ARM v7 instruction set architecture.
It has the IP of ARM Holdings. But we can def. use an ARM-like processor on a board. Unless you want to go for the BeagleBoard-xM
at 512 MB LPDDR RAM.
