The Universe is discrete
No it's not. The Planck scale is just when it becomes impossible to accurately (or precisely) take measurements. You have no idea what goes on beneath the Planck scale, and assuming that the universe becomes discrete is the same sort of assumption as that the ocean falls off the edge of the earth past a certain, unexplored point.
