Which is the superior platform?

I think superiority is simply based on what you prefer.

Nevertheless, I always feel more comfortable using iOS because I think it has class but you are limited on certain parts.

Programming language: Java vs. Objective-C. Java a shit. Objective-C is just as verbose, but it's a strict subset of C based on Smalltalk. One can bootstrap a pure C program with just 100 lines of Objective-C. iOS wins, hands down.

IDE: Eclipse or Android Studio vs. Xcode. Eclipse a shit. Android Studio is better, but still slow. Xcode is weird, but it's fast. iOS wins again.

CLI: Android SDK vs. Xcode Command Line Tools. It's pretty easy to configure and compile an Android APK from the command line. Xcode allows you to do a handful of operations from the command line, but .xcodeproj format is complex and undocumented, so you still need to rely on Xcode for some things. Android wins.

Interface format: XML vs. XIB. Android's XML format is pretty simple. XIB is complex and undocumented. However, Android's XML is not optional. There are certain styles that are impossible to implement programmatically. XIB is optional. An iOS interface can be written in completely in code and the limited set of screen sizes to deal with makes it easy to do. iOS wins again.

Summary: iOS is the superior platform for programming.

I still prefer Android as a user however.

iOS API is better as well, Android has more major bugs and limitations that have gone unfixed for years.
