i downloaded the latest emacs binary, it immediately crashed, gg emacs, hello notepad.

I downloaded half of the latest emacs binary, it was so big I immediately ran out of disk space, gg emacs, hello vi.

I actually have, because was involved with some packaging in a situation where
vi didn't compile, but we needed a
vi clone (not
vim) and elvis worked perfectly.
