Programming is just a fad.

In a few years people will have given up the ability to run arbitrary code. All software will be released by a few large software vendors and people will reminisce on how silly it was to use a compiler or worry about lists and such. Stuff like Lisp will end up in the gutters of history -- just like disco, anime, libraries, and the pet rock -- waiting to be forgotten.

But disco is alive!

For example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6bbB96B6yY is a modern italo-disco production.
special javascript hardware
So how do you interact with javascript hardware? Any mixture of typing, speech, and interpretive which it coerces into some sick bastardization of javascript's only type? Doesn't sound much different from how things are now.
