I also got banned, for "advertising" apparently, even though I only offered great deals on discount pharmaceuticals a few times, but appealed and got my privileges back.
I was banned 4 times during the cleanup. I knew there would be some shit like that if the script ran long enough. That's why I was daring the spammer to do so.
He didn't look too bright, maybe he was spamming from his home IP.
