possible to make money using programming?

I just had an idea, since there are a lot of computer use in the world today - surely I could make money by programming? maybe someone who doesn't have time to work through SICP just needs something coded or what? I don't know.. basically I need to start earning some money and I thought of this - what you do you think prog?
