The vast majority of his missions were spent piloting the various models of the Junkers Ju 87, though by the end of the war, he often flew the ground-attack variant of the Fw 190.

How was it misguided? Germany was fighting to survive against the Bolshevik Jews terrorizing Russia and controlling the British and American governments. Remember, Germany never started the war, no matter how many times the Jews will tell you that they did. Britain and France declared war against Germany first. The Bolsheviks were gearing up to take over all of Western Europe and Germany had no choice but to try to preempt the attack. Roosevelt tried in vain to antagonize Hitler into war by targeting their ships, but Hitler ordered always to retreat from American aggression.
