C to be Officially Depreciated

ANSI just announced it, and Microsoft, GNU, Apple, Borland, BSD, and Intel had not only planned to stop maintain their respective compilers, but will be removing the ability to compile C as C++ as well. It's a sad day in programming history.

But it's sad, because enterprise software would benefit a lot more from a cleaner, more descriptive and more extensible language,  like lisps.
