I need some efficient, quick and simple way to enter advanced mathematical formulae in between text (that can be nicely formatted), is LaTeX a nice way to do it? Please recommend me something decent.

I recommend the BBCode.
E = mc2

Does [u]x-2[/u] equals (x-2)/(x-2) or x-2/x-2?
               x-2

I was wondering about it for past 3 hours and I still don't know the answer

I recommend Microsoft® Office™ Word with its Equation Editor.

LaTeX is not a nice way to do `quick' `easy' maths forumulae if you're new, try MathML; probably faster.

Where are you sticking it?  In a webpage?

Most of the time I'll use it for printing.

Straight TEX is better. LᴬTEX is a pain in the ass, but sometimes you're given a specific style that has to be used.

i fail to see how \pi or a^b_c + \int_{5}^{\sigma} f(x) dx is a pain in the ass

for simple formulae, latex is the same shit as tex, and if op is making this question, i'm sure as hell he's not using complex formulae

Troff with eqn is very nice.

.EQ
sum from { i=1 } to inf e sup { 2i }
.EN

A famous equation is $e sup { i pi } = -1$ .

.EQ
define exists '~\(te~'
define suchthat '~:~'
define forall '~\(fa~'
define member '~\(mo~'
exists a sub mu member bold Z
suchthat a sub mu < delta
forall delta member bold Z
.EN

.EQ
define dne !~ \o'/\(te' ~!
dne beta member bold N
suchthat beta > THETA
forall THETA member bold Z
.EN

cant you just write "e^(i*pi) = -1"?

!~ \o'/\(te' ~!
Perl6 would be proud.

eqn uses sup in place of ^; in general, it tries to emulate spoken description of math formatting, and to the would just be silly.

!~ \o'/\(te' ~!
I couldn't use ' as the delimiter for the definition because it was used in the argument to the \o escape and.

~, as in the other examples, serves to add space around a symbol.

\o is a Troff escape that overstrikes all the characters of its argument, here / and the \(te escape as used in exists above -- an ∃.

It's not a pain, because that's just plain TeX.
