NOT INVENTED HERE

Desmond: "OWEN? WERE YOU HERE ALL NIGHT?"

Owen: " I GOT INTO THE ZONE!

THE CODE JUST FLEW OFF MY FINGERS! I WAS ONE WITH THE COMPUTER, A DIRECT MAN-MACHINE CONNECTION. BY THE END I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TYPING!"

Desmond (looking at print-outs of Owen's code): "THIS IS...COMPLETE NONSENSE."

Owen: "HOUR SEVENTEEN WAS WHEN I HIT THE WALL."

supposing you know english, you need to read nothing to learn VB
i didn't

it may look like a forced /prog/ meme, use an unappealing or  unaccessible language, define concepts which look unrelated to actual programming environments/languages, look so eighties...

but really,

i mean really,

you could hardly find something better than SICP

unless you don't know math
unless you don't know english
unless you don't know to think

in that case,

you can try to learn easy
simple
braindead
natural
humanistic

simple things meant for dummies
like cobol,
or visual basic,
or java

and this way,
you'll probably get a job
will copy as paste libraries/code from the internet
adapt function calls and method signatures
and even get paid for it!

you may even fix your bugs!
and fix others' too!

but in the end...
when you get that little glimpse of light
that nifty little meta-abstraction
will remind you something weird but awesome,
you will find it on the wikipedia
and grow eager
but then,
you'll find SICP
and see what SICP was
and why /prog/ told you that

and you'll cry in the inside
but will never get another chance
YOLO
so you'll just despise it,
like everyone does

so, be advised

sicerely,

Die in a fire, cretin.LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL XXXXXXXXDDDDDDDDDDXDXDXDXDXDXDDXD ^^

Me too, actually.

Weird.

Was a good book in its time, at least.

>humanistic
looks like somebody is too dumb to grok simple stuff such as Hegel, Hume, or Kant.

I've been working on my random BBcode generator. Progress is going quite well, but I want to optimize it even further.

Don't change these.
