What I found interesting in the around Adria Richards, was that the majority seemed to focus on a basic definition on racism. This made me rethink my previous assumptions. I want to discuss in (-:prog:-) if Afro-Americans can be truly racist to the majority conservative white population. I believe it would be a fallacy to think a Afro-American can be racist toward a white conservative male, seen in the light that the former does not belong to a majority and is thus not equally valued in terms of power and influence. What do you think (:prog:)

Because of the non-existence of races, we cannot define racism in simple terms of physiology. There is a deeper context we need to seek. I would like to propose, that racism is in principle an aggressive force enforced by the majority. So an Afro-American can be racist, but he/she cannot be racist in the VS. Racism is nothing more than the instinct to protect the group against the unknown outsider, which has different cultural rules and ethical laws. Racism is the force, which forces a monoculture upon minorities, which eventually will homogenize the cultural differences.
You are making the mistake that there is no such entity as race. Humanity is not divided into races. We are essentially on a abstract level the same. Only due to behavioral difference attenuated by economical and ecological deviations we can explain the differences between two persons.
I think it is rather discriminatory to assume behavioral difference actually exist. Due to economical and ecological factors it could be that the behavior is modified because of changing circumstance. E.g. if we put a white male into the same environment with the same socio-economic handicap we may see the same behavior arise.

You're probably confusing racism with large-scale or institutionalized racism. In that case, yes, the bias is clearly against non-whites. And then again, one must be very careful when interpreting statistics, because it's very easy to come to shitty and bigoted conclusions (such as saying that only white people can be racist).

I doubt mitochondrial DNA will be much help. Because the virus has to get into the cell to find specific mitochondrial protein. If it cannot find it, it should not replicate and die in a nice way. That's quite some molecular machinery you have to build.

I found it extremely insightful, that people are (f)actually prepossessed with their environmental and sociological commonalities. I think this is a more important marker than race and thus makes racism a rejected variable in models predicting behaviour.
