A web browser is basically like

Name: Anonymous 2013-03-19 5:15

A half-OS within an OS.

Emacs is a good example of a web browser that is a text editor.

A browser is quite a systems based program. Why they aren't programmed in C and only C is beyond me.

I'd also like to assert for a moment, web browsers are not an operating system unto itself, but rather another component of a fully functioning system.

Many computer programmers write systems using C++ every day. Through a peculiar turn of events, some programmers today are too incompetent to properly wield this tool and many users are not aware that standards can be established to define boundaries.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as C++, is in fact, C/C++, or as I've recently taken to calling it, See plus See plus plus. C++ is not an programming language unto itself, but rather another component of a fully functioning C/C++ system made useful by the C corelibs, stdio.h utilities and vital system components comprising a full C/C++ programming language as defined by the ISO/IEC 14882 standard.

Why do you fa/g/s think 'install gentoo' is funny?
No-one will ever be tricked into doing it. They'll just see the command prompt and the lack of installer and say 'fuck this' and ignore your attempts to trick them into doing way funnier shit.
Not to mention the people on /g/ who try to assert that it really is a good distro. Why one would waste their time on that shit is beyond me. Just do a CentOS minimal install if you have to convince yourself that you're some kind of 1337 pr0 hackor.

I've never been to /g/ but I use Gentoo as my primary distro. And I don't really understand why you changed the question from "why is install le /g/entoo XDDDDD funnay?" to "why don't you install CentOS instead?". That doesn't even make sense and you know /g/tards find really absurd things funny, such as prepending > to every sentence and all that retarded shit.
