It's kind of hard to see my dad's brother being all that horrible, but if that is even close to what happened, then it's pretty hard for me to say that he just wasn't aware at all.
Probably doesn't reflect on me very well, whichever way it is, unless it is proven, and even then i just don't know. Seems unlikely. And though I might convince myself, in a court =/ physical evidence? It was 3 years ago....
Anyway, hopefully this action was warranted... Sorry for the mad panic back there, but it kind of caught me unawares aswell. =)
Might i just add, that they have offered at least twice for me to go stay with them, even before all this, and at least twice i've said no. Hell No. It's bad enough when they come here for a week...

OP here btw, I had nothing to do with this. I bump this thread and Move Over Leah and that's pretty much all I do on this board. Not to mention, Move Over Leah has been buried now.

I've long been a fan of bringing some sort of authentication to the textboards. Not captchas or anything intense, but just something that the spambots can't figure out. There's tons of good auth services out there, but we're stuck reading spam here.

It's still better than having mods. The only way this place could be moderated is if one of the posters was a mod, and if one of the posters was a mod, what happened today would happen on a regular basis and people ip addresses would be banned as well for equally silly reasons. Most shit posters without a source of feedback get bored and move on, although Ahmed is one such exceptional exception. A mature viewer will apply their own filter, and only reply to what they want to see on prog. It's a form of voting. But in a democracy all people are to have equal voting power. Automated posting is to increase one's vote to become totalitarian. Through a minor exercise in programming, a poster is able to assign themself the role of a moderator. The competency requirement filters out most people that have this level of maturity, but sometimes a /prog/rider will get carried away.
I hope spammer-san isn't banned. The only way to get banned here is to trigger an automated form of detection, and his/her/it's post rate was pretty high for a while. I hope he/she/it still has access to /prog/.
