I found /b/ after it was mentioned in a news article I found on Reddit about a year ago. I eventually grew tired of the stupid newfags and found my way yo /g/. I actually never even knew these textboards existed until a few months ago when some kind (just kidding, he was actually a total dick) Anon pointed out that there were textboards mentioned in the board header, and I've been here ever since.

you are everything I hate about 4ch, consider suicide tonight.
I am heavily involved with the bugchasing community (I'm a giver, email me if interested) and someone mentioned that there were plenty of faggots needin' a breedin' here. I think I've breed maybe 25 queers from dis.4chan and maybe 100 from the imagereddits. I don't tell the imageboard faggots that I'm giving them my strain though, so they always freak out when they test positive and panic. It's funny shit.

I decided that I was tired of programming and needed a place to vent all the inane, asinine garbage that floated through my tiny brain through out the day.

I decided to look at the logs of my spambot and, lo-and-behold, here I came.
Thanks for buying those cheap hollister shoes and uguu boots guys, it's been a wonderful ride.

The American Autism Clinic listed this place as a good support group. That was 2007; I've been here ever since.
In 2009 I took a CS course based on SICP. My TA informed us that there were places on the internet where SICP was a meme. A year or two later, I came across a Facebook group called ``have you read your SICP today?'' For some reason, I felt compelled to google the phrase and here I am.
I probably came here from /g/, like almost everyone. I think they only mentioned /prog/, and I had to take the enormous effort of actually Googling it. If I recall correctly, Googled it every time I wanted to come here for months, rather than memorizing the very simple URL.
In 2009 I took a CIS course based on SICP (Structure and Interpretation of Cisgender Patriarchy). My TA informed us that there were places on the internet where SICP was a meme. I came from /jp/ to discuss 2hus about 4 months ago. I didn't even know this board was about programming until I saw that thread about how to make /prog/ better. To think, all those times I saged programming threads, it was me who was the newfag.
I went to the zoo and all the monkeys were on this website so I decided to check it out for myself

I tried running a Ruby program for my programming theory class, and this site came up... ever since, I have shunned Ruby from my life and I've been a better person of it. Thank you, /prog/.
You guys missed out on when all 5 of the guys who used w4ch before it merged with 4chan (who were left) were spamming the imageshits advertising for mainly new4vip. Some randoms made threads related to programming in lounge and Snacks took it upon himself to expand the number of boards, with moot and vacbob's shaloms in support, starting with /prog/. And that was the shabbat.
Those advertisements were real quality though, not like you find anywhere else.
I found [spoiler]/prog/[spoiler] while doing a CS course and checked if 4chan had a programming board. The first thing I saw was ``Year of the losthos thread'', which made me get myself a CD and install losthos and now I am a true believer.
