Static typing vs. dynamic typing

Name: Anonymous 2012-12-01 21:02

http://blogs.perl.org/users/ovid/2010/08/what-to-know-before-debating-type-systems.html

I posted this on /g/ because they like to discuss weak typing and strong typing; but they somehow conflate the concept with static and dynamic typing.

but /g/ doesn't actually program so...

I posted this on /g/
Well, go back there.

I don't want to, nobody actually programs on /g/

Name: Anonymous 2012-12-01 21:15

Then behave, sage your posts if they're not good enough to bump a thread in a slow textboard and don't even mention /g/ or their stupid ``memes''.

Oh, most people here at /prog/ already know the difference between strong/weak and dynamic/static typing.

Name: Anonymous 2012-12-01 21:17

In fact, if people cared to read that, more than 90% of discussion between Ruby and Java would not exist.

/prog/ generally dislikes any mention of /g/ and will go out of their way to implement fake memes that don't exist in every thread as a way to display their distaste for /g/ and Reddit.
While /prog/ does program, they are more likely to not help you because you broke one of their many sensitive rules and fill your thread with spam. Don't mention other languages except LISP, unless trying to ask for comparisons so people can fully express their unwarranted distaste for each language.
I wouldn't suggest you post here. You'll be asked to return to /g/ and Israel until you stop posting (unless it's about LISP, which excites a few more worthwhile posts than just NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER, shalom!, e/g/in /g/ro, etc.)

what does that do exactly?

Please don't quote like an imageboard user.

Please don't quote like an imageboard user.
oh ok

Name: Anonymous 2012-12-01 21:41

>>13
I also meant that you shouldn't quote something that nobody else has said.

For example,
oh ok
would be a proper quote, because you just said that, while
Why am I feeling so drowsy?
isn't, because nobody in this thread said that.

Name: Anonymous 2012-12-01 21:42

>>13
yes. That's the way to quote.

Name: Anonymous 2012-12-01 21:49

>>14
How did you know I'm feeling so drowsy? Are you a hacker?

So why would you post it here?

frankly i don't care much of aboriginal customs, what i really dislike it's when somebody tries to limit freedom of others without any need and moreso on the internet forum which proclaims the freedom of communication
