If HTML is a markup language, would it be correct to say "I mark HTML", instead of "I program HTML"?

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 9:32

Yes.

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 9:33

anyone doesn't say "I mark HTML" i think.

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 9:36

Who the hell says ``I program C'', though? You program computers, not languages.

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 9:38

????

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 9:38

so you say "I mark HTML"?

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 9:55

Who the hell says ``I program HTML'' anyway? I've always heard ``I know HTML''.

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 9:57

Wouldn't you more often hear something like ``I'm writing HTML''

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 10:04

I'm annotating documents and no one can stop me!

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 10:07

``I program in C"
``I'm a C programmer"
``I markup in HTML"
``I'm a fucking faggot"

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 10:08

Do as you like.

Technically you say, "I will write HTML." Or "I will typeset in HTML."

marking has a connotation of branding or labeling something. Not typesetting which is what you are doing in Markup Langs.

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 13:55

``Markup'' is not a verb.

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 13:56

``I suck cocks'' is equivalent to ``I write HTML''.

Name: Anonymous 2012-11-29 14:00

i just write templates for my Perl::Dancer apps.
